5 March – – Classical High’s Alva Hicks and Barrington’s Bobby Colantonio were titlists on Tuesday at the annual New England Weight Throw Championships, held at the PCTA facility.
Hicks, the 2015 Indoor State Meet weight champ, on Tuesday threw the 20-pound ball 54 feet, 9.50 inches (16.70 meters) for the crown. Colantonio, state runner-up with the 25-pound weight, threw 77-0.75 (23.49) for the regional title.
In competition with the 35-pound weight, Colantonio’s 57-7.50 (1756) mark was good for the win.
