9 March – Barrington’s Adam Kelly captured the title in the boys’ 25-pound weight throw at the annual “Weight-a-Rama’’ event, held on Sunday at PCTA. Kelly, the state champ, threw 77 feet, 11 inches (23.75 meters) for the title. In the girls’ 20-pound event, R.I. state runner-up Lysah Russell, of Classical, got off a throw of 54-2.50 (16.52), downing teammate Alva Hicks, who placed second.
