R.I. Track & Field Foundation
8 Sept. – – Defending state champs La Salle headed both surveys in the first of three cross country coaches polls conducted by the R.I. Track & Field Foundation. The girls’ program garnered 159 points and 15 first-place ballots. Cumberland was next with 139, followed by third-place North Kingstown (129). In the boys’ voting, the Rams gathered 147 points, to Hendricken’s 136. Barrington’s third-placed 114 votes edged East Greenwich’s 113.
The next RIT&FF poll will be held Oct. 11.
