R.I. Track & Field Foundation
17 Dec. – – La Salle senior DJ Principe clocked a near-state-record 8:35.37 on Saturday to win the RITCA Invitational 3000 meters on the PCTA track. Principe holds the R.I. indoor record for the event; 8:26.51, clocked last season at the Yale Invitational. Central senior Donatien Djero went 6.61 in winning the 55 dash.
In the girls’ events, North Kingstown junior Tereza Bolibruch clocked 8.68 to take the 55 hurdles. La Salle junior Emily Kane won the 3000 in 10:09.68, three seconds ahead of South Kinsgtown’ Ellie Lawler (10:12.61). Isabella Gentil, a senior from East Greenwich, was a double winner. She went 43.42 to win the 300 meters, and 7.63 to claim gold in the dash.
