22 May – – Pilgrim nipped Barrington by a half-point on Saturday at the Class B girls’ meet at Portsmouth High’s track. A surging West Warwick boys’ team captured the boys’ Class B title. Barrington senior Bobby Colantonio broke a meet record with his winning hammer throw of 237-9 (72.46 meters). The Wizards’ Avery Williamson won gold in both dashes, while Clsssical’s Nate Narcisse took both hurdles events. Anthony Shepard, the South Kingstown junior, won the lone and triple jumps. Pilgrim senior Emma Landroche clocked 12.9 to win the Class B girls’ 100, and 26.8 for gold in the 200. Westerly sophomore Randi Burr went 2:17.2 in winning the 800. Burr clocked 4:38.8 for the 1500-meter win. Toll Gate senior Courtney Jacobsen won the hammer with a mark of 175-7 (53.51).
