R.I. Track & Field Foundation
Oct. 22 – – East Greenwich captured both team titles on Thursday at the annual East Bay Challenge cross country 3.1-milers at The Glen in Portsmouth. The Avengers and Portsmouth both tallied 39 points on the girls’ side, with East Greenwich taking the top spot based on higher place finishers among the top six.
Portsmouth took the top two individual places in the girls’ race, as freshman Elizabeth Sullivan clocked a winning 20:13, and teammate Sofia White finished second, at 20:39. The Avengers’ Rachel Berman was first over the line for her team; third in 20:53.
In the boys’ event, it was Avenger junior Jackson Cronin going 16:49 for the win. Kyle Keefe, a junior from Chariho, placed second (16:51.)
