R.I. Track & Field Foundation
10 Oct. – – The Hendricken harriers narrowly captured team honors in the boys’ Varsity “E’’ race at Saturday’s 43rd annual Manhattan Cross Country Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park, N.Y. The Hawks scored 39 points, and were led by a second-place performance by Avery Ingegneri. The senior clocked 12:53.6 in a tight finish against Chris Raskowsky, of Xavier (12:53.1). Dominic Parlato came in third for the Hawks (12:54), while Tom McMahon placed eighth in 13:09.
In the featured Eastern States 2.5-milers, the La Salle girls’ squad gathered 151 points for a fourth-place showing in team scoring. Senior Eliza Rego, a coaches association first-team all-stater last year, came in at 14:46 for 12th spot. In the boys’ Eastern States event, the Rams placed 13th among teams, and were paced by junior DJ Principe’s 12:36 clocking for 18th overall.
In the boys’ Varsity “G” event, Cumberland finished fourth in team standings. The Clippers’ Ben Drezek was top man for his team, finishing seventh in 13:13.
