R.I. Track & Field Foundation
MEDIA NOTE – – The seventh annual R.I. Classic Track & Field Invitational will be held on Wednesday (30 Dec.) at the PCTA track in Providence. The event begins with the boys’ meet, starting at 9 a.m., followed by the girls’ meet which is scheduled to start at 1:55 p.m. The meet includes an imperial mile for boys and girls.
La Salle’s Jack Salisbury returns to defend his 2014 R.I. Classic mile title. Salisbury clocked a winning 4:21.31 (= 4:02.1 @ 1500 meters) at the ’14 meet. The Rams’ Eliza Rego was the top Rhode Island finisher in the girls’ mile last year (5:08.78/= 4:46.1 @ 1500 meters), placing third. The boys’ weight throw relay will be led by Barrington senior and state runner-up Bobby Colantonio.
