30 May – – Hendricketh 84 points were good enough to top a large field at the annual Hendricken Track & Field Invitational in Hawk Country. North Kingstown came in second with 57 points, a point in front of third-place Barrington.
Among meet highlight performances was that of Classical High senior Newell Roberts, who cleared the pole vault bar a season-best 14 feet 3 inches (4.34 meters). Roberts’ height was nearly a foot superior to the second-place competitor. Barrington senior Adam Kelly took the hammer with a throw of 235-6 (71.78), while teammate Bobby Colantonio placed second (229-8/70.00).
Mars Bishop, a Barrington sophomore, clocked 4:04.5 to win the 1500 meters.
