January 28 New England association Officials Chair Laurie Boemker was named an International Area Technical Official for the North America, Central America, and Caribbean (NACAC) region. Following USATF nomination, a week class at the IAAF Development Center in Puerto Rico, and passing a comprehensive oral and written exam, she was eligible for consideration and named ATO for 2015-2018, one of five from the USA and 23 overall from NACAC countries. Area Technical Officials Candidates must demonstrate outstanding commitment and skill as a Technical Official at the federation and regional level. They are highly skilled in all aspects of the organization and conduct of major domestic and international competitions within the region and will be appointed to positions as Technical Delegates or ATO’s at those competitions.
